Step into a weekend where tango becomes more than dance, it becomes a journey into presence, trust, emotional clarity, and authentic human connection.

Hosted by Jutta Lenz and Beat Litschi, A Kind of Tango invites beginners, couples, solo travellers, and tango lovers alike to discover Argentine Tango as a powerful practice of mindfulness and self-awareness.

Surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of Hotel Lilienberg with breathtaking views over Lake Constance, this immersive three-day experience combines tango fundamentals, body awareness, meditation in movement, yoga for dancers, musicality, improvisation, and playful social connection.

Through conscious leading and following, nonverbal communication, and mindful movement exercises, participants will learn how tango can open new pathways to:

  • Self-awareness and expression

  • Joyful movement and inner harmony

The workshop includes guided tango sessions, mindfulness practices, partner exercises, a magical tango evening and milonga, practice materials, and opportunities to connect deeply with yourself and others in a warm and welcoming environment.

Friday

From 3:00 PM – Arrival & Introduction

  • Welcome & Introductions

  • What makes tango so unique?

  • History, Fundamentals & Mindfulness in Tango

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Practical Exercises

  • Body awareness & contact exercises

  • Basic steps, rhythm, posture & embrace

  • Rules of the game in tango

  • First exercises: Leading & Following

Saturday

9:00 – 11:00 am

  • Repetition & Reflection: Yoga for Dancers

  • Gliding walking, rhythm work

  • Partner exercises: the "box", leading/being led

  • Lifting, lowering, coordination & cybernetics exercises

12:30 – 14:00 – Lunch break

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  • Walking meditation with/without music, yoga for dancers

  • Forward and backward ochos

  • Basic step sequences & musicality

  • La Cruzada

  • Rotations, pivots, giros

  • Option: Molinete

At evening

  • Dinner together

  • A short performance by the course instructor

  • Dance evening with playful group formats
    (Guests from outside welcome).

The organizers

 Beat Litschi

Dancer – Mentor – Movement Coach

Beat is an outstanding ballroom, Latin, and tango dancer with over 20 years of experience. Professionally, he works as a mentor and safety coach in the logistics industry, combining his professional coaching expertise with his passion for dance and movement. His extensive experience in various dance styles and sports, in which he has received numerous awards, has shaped his deep understanding of body awareness, movement technique, and individual learning processes. Today, he also shares this knowledge as a coach for dance teachers.

Beat's focus is on the mindful, connecting core of tango – not on as many figures as possible, but on presence, sensitivity and authentic communication within the couple.

Dr. Jutta Lenz, MA

Psychologist – Coach – MBSR Teacher – Dancer

Jutta combines psychology, education, sports science, and 40 years of experience working with people. She supports executives, teams, and individuals in their personal development – ​​drawing on her expertise as a coach, lecturer, yoga teacher, MBSR trainer, and mindfulness and meditation expert. Dance has been a constant companion since her sports science studies: Standard & Latin, Swing, Step, Flamenco, Jazz, Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Semba – and finally, Argentine Tango, which has become for her the deepest form of interpersonal connection.

Those who dance tango regularly often experience a new lightness, inner harmony, and clearer decision-making in everyday life. Jutta wants to share this experience with participants – mindfully, competently, and wholeheartedly. Jutta and Beat's aim is to open people to the inner depths of tango.
